One-Parent Family Payment is a payment for people who are bringing children up without the support of a partner.
A Widow's, Widower's or Surviving Civil Partner's contributory pension and related social welfare benefits may be payable if either the deceased person or their spouse/civil partner has enough PRSI contributions.
If you care for a child on your own, you may be able to claim a tax credit called the Single Person Child Carer Credit (SPCCC).
