Online services for PAYE taxpayers

Introduction

If you are a PAYE taxpayer, that is if you have tax deducted from your income by your employer, you can use the PAYE On-Line service provided by Revenue. This page explains the different online services that are available and how they can be accessed.

 

View your tax records

You can view and update the tax reliefs and incomes on your record for the tax years 2006 and 2007.

You can also view and update your profile including your name, address, date of birth, employments, bank account details and dependant children.

If you are taxed as a married person, your spouse’s details will also be accessible.

Request a review

You can request a review of your taxes for prior years. 2005 is the first year for which this service is available online. Revenue will then send you a PAYE Balancing Statement based on the information provided.

Claim tax reliefs online

You can view your tax reliefs. If you are entitled to reliefs that are not currently listed on your record then you can claim them online. 

Using the limited service you can claim:

  • Rent Tax Credit
  • Age Tax Credit
  • Trade Union Subscriptions
  • Service Charges Relief
  • Dependent Relative Tax Credit
  • Home Carers Tax Credit
  • Medical Insurance Relief
  • Flat Rate Expenses


In addition to these, registered users can claim:

  • Personal Tax Credit
  • PAYE Tax Credit
  • One Parent Family Tax Credit
  • Widowed Parent Tax Credit
  • Health Expenses
  • Incapacitated Child Tax Credit
  • Permanent Health Insurance
  • Blind Persons Tax Credit
  • Guide Dog Allowance
  • Benefit in Kind
  • Exempt Income
  • Deduction for Maintenance Payments

If you have two or more employments, you can change the way that your tax reliefs are allocated between them.

If you are taxed as a married person, you can change the allocation of tax reliefs between you and your spouse.

Tax Credit Certificate

If you make changes that affect your Notice of determination of tax credits and reliefs, Revenue will send you an updated version.

How to apply

Registering for Revenue online services

To access the PAYE On-Line service you must register online.

When you register you will be sent a a PIN (Personal Identification Number) within 5 working days. 

You will need your PIN (Personal Identification Number) to access your PAYE On-Line service.
