Checklist when applying for a State Pension (Non-Contributory)


You must send the following certificates with your application for a State Pension (Non-Contributory):

  • Your birth certificate

and if appropriate:

To claim an increase for a dependent spouse or partner you must also send the following certificates:

  • Your marriage certificate
  • Your spouse/partner's birth certificate

To claim an increase for a dependent child you must also send the following certificates:

  • Your marriage certificate
  • Birth certificates for each of your dependent children However, if you are currently getting Child Benefit for them, there is no need to provide these birth certificates.

You can get birth and marriage certificate from Registrar of Births, Deaths and Marriages.
